❤️ Feast of the Sacred Heart ❤️ Last term, our St Patrick's community gathered in faith to celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a special day that reminds us of Jesus' boundless love, compassion and mercy for all people. As a faith-filled community, we reflected on how we are called to live with generous and loving hearts by caring for those most in need. During the term, our students and families lived their faith by donating to the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal, demonstrating that faith is not only something we believe but something we put into action. Thank you to everyone who generously donated to this worthy cause. Your kindness and compassion will make a real difference to those in our local community this winter. 🌏💚 Mini Vinnies in Action 💚🌏 Led by our Student Animator, Elvis, our Mini Vinnies students have been hard at work planning ways our school community can put the teachings of Pope Francis' Laudato Si' into action by caring for our common home. Working together, students shared ideas and explored practical ways St Patrick's can reduce waste, care for the environment and make a positive difference within our school and wider community. We are incredibly proud of Elvis and our Mini Vinnies students for their enthusiasm, leadership and commitment to living out their faith through action. 🏃♀️🏃♂️ Stage 3 Gala Day 🏃♂️🏃♀️ ⚽What a fantastic day our Stage 3 students had at the Gala Day!⚽ Whether they were scoring tries, defending goals, making incredible passes or cheering on their teammates, every student represented St Patrick's with enthusiasm, determination and outstanding sportsmanship. Events like Gala Day are a wonderful opportunity for students to build teamwork, resilience and friendships while enjoying healthy competition with students from other schools. Learning Together Through Faith Our Year 4 students recently had the opportunity to share their learning with our Year 2 classes by presenting a slideshow they created as part of their Religion unit, "Why do people sometimes do the wrong thing?" Through their presentations, the students explained what an informed conscience is and how it helps us make thoughtful, loving and responsible choices each day. They confidently shared their knowledge, answered questions and encouraged our younger students to think about how they can make good choices in their own lives. It was wonderful to see our Year 4 students demonstrating leadership through service as they helped our Year 2 students deepen their understanding of our Catholic faith. Our Story, Told by Every Hand As we conclude our NAIDOC Week celebrations, we are proud to unveil our collaborative artwork, inspired by the stories Billie shared with our students. After learning about the 'forever art' created by Aboriginal Elders to share their communities' stories, every student at St Patrick's added their own handprint to create a unique artwork that tells the story of our school community. Our Year 6 students proudly completed the final touches, bringing together a masterpiece created by every child. As we celebrate this year's NAIDOC Week theme, "50 Years of Deadly," this artwork reminds us that every story matters, every culture is valued, and every student has left their mark on the story of St Patrick's. We hope you enjoy our masterpiece as much as we enjoyed creating it. Celebrating Culture Together Our Year 5 students thoroughly enjoyed learning from Billie during our NAIDOC Week celebrations. Through storytelling, music, dance and hands-on experiences, students gained a deeper understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and the importance of preserving stories for future generations. 💙 Go the Blues! 💙 Tonight is State of Origin night, and while we know some of our St Patrick's families will be proudly wearing maroon, we're getting behind the NSW Blues! While these photos were originally taken earlier this year when our students wore blue to celebrate Ms Barton's upcoming wedding, we thought they were the perfect way to show our support for the mighty Blues. Learning Through Story, Culture and Connection Today we are celebrating the experiences of our Kindy, Years 3 and 1 students during our NAIDOC Week incursion with Billie. Students listened carefully to stories, explored traditional artefacts, enjoyed music and dance, and learnt how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures have been sharing knowledge and history through storytelling for generations.
